Food Glorious Food!

So Carson had a little extension to his birthday celebration.  The traditional Maui Wowi from Papa Steve :)  They look forward to that, because I never take them to the ice cream shop and they think it's such a treat!
I got one for the other kids to share ;)
Audrey has been working on using her utensils.  The fork she does okay at, but the spoon... she is ALWAYS messy afterwards ;)
And then we've had our days when dad cooks, YUM!!!  Gourmet Chicken Pesto Pizza and Cheesecake from scratch with a blueberry lemon compote on top.  OH SO DELISH!!!
Love it when he cooks

My Seven Year Old

This little boy has been SUCH a fun part of our lives.  He is good hearted, stinking persistent, quick to learn, huge social bug, and one giant happy goof ball.  Oh we love Carson so much!
He was so excited to turn 7 :)
A little about him.  He LOVES to serve and help out.  One Saturday morning, I was taking my time getting out of bed.  I heard some rustling in the kitchen but didn't pay too much attention to it until I noticed the length of bustle going on.  So I came in to check.  There was Carson, getting breakfast ready for everyone.  Total, melt my heart moment.  I'm not a fan of what he made, but I'm a total fan of his sweet intention
Another thing I love is his attention to detail when he's drawing.  And when he starts something, he's completely focused until it's done.  He hardly notices anything around him as he works on his drawing and coloring.  When he brought this picture home from school I had to pin it up on his board.  All the detail and patterned color!  I wonder how long it took him??
This was his first year in soccer also, and his teamed rocked the field.  Undefeated and crazy bunch of boys.  I can't wait til spring to watch them again :)
For his birthday he requested a Seahawk Party.  What a party!  Having a houseful of 6-7 year old boys was wild but a complete blast.  Of course when everyone gets there, they hit the tramp.  Only a few bruises happened with everyone on there ;)
We told the boys to dress up in Seahawk attire.  I couldn't help but take a pic of their festive get up as they ate their nacho plates
After presents we sang and ate our football ice cream sandwiches
THEN we got ready for the big game.  Glow in the dark football!!  Jeremy taped some glow sticks to a football, gave each glow bracelets, and put black stickers on their cheeks like real players to make them look tough ;)  Then outside they went!  That's when we got some real bruises, whoops! ;)
Before:  Carson had lost a tooth a week earlier... but then the football game happened.
And he lost another!!  Funny thing was, he caught the ball that hit him in the face AND his tooth that popped out at the same time!  LOL.  He was all smiles :)
HAPPY BIRTHDAY CARSON!  WE LOVE YOU!

CHANGE

Change is in the air!  The breeze is getting cooler, the colors on the trees are turning, and festivities are around the corner!  I say it all the time, and I'll say it again, I love this time of year :)
Kids know how to play in leaves the best
Soccer season has ended too.  I love watching the kids play sports.  Alex here is taking the ball up the field.  His team improved SO much this year since last year.
And it probably had to do with Jeremy.  He coached Alex's team this year and he did such a good job doing so.  Many people know the game, but few know how to coach it, and I've always been impressed with how well Jeremy can do such.
As Cami has gotten older her hair has gotten curlier!  It used to be stick straight, but not any more!  This curly hair business is all new to me, so I've got to learn some new hair skills :)
Oh change ;)

Jeremy

This wonderful man of mine turned another year older. 36! We celebrated the weekend with yummy waffles and lots of general conference :)
BUT, before he could come out of his room for the morning, the kids created an obstacle course for him while we sang Happy Birthday.  They had A LOT of fun getting that ready :) as you can tell
Jeremy LOVES coconut, so I thought I'd try out a fancy coconut cake with coconut frosting and toasted coconut to top it off!  IT sure looked fancy, but wasn't the greatest flavor we'd have to admit.  But points for presentation and effort right?!!
WE LOVE YOU JEREMY!  HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
