a Witch, a Ninja, a Knight, a Pumpkin

HALLOWEEN 2012
I really should have only posted one picture... but I just couldn't decide on which one.
And of course we ended up with twice as much candy as when we started.  A child's goal at Halloween ;)
HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!!!!

Mooch

On our way home from trick or treating a homeless kitty followed us home.  We now call him Mooch.  He DOWNED the tuna smothered in oil we set out for him and loved the attention.  I think kittens are cute... but me personally... I'm a little leery of bringing in a stray cat.  My kids BEG for us to keep it.  I'm allergic in the first place, (oh darn).  BUT, my sister has been looking for a kitty to have and she wants it.  So instead of shoving it back into the cold alley... Mooch now has a home. :)

It's Raining, It's Pouring....

.... the Weather is Changing!
And FALL is officially here!
Happy Fall To You All :)

F.H.E. treat

This Monday Alex was in charge of treats... and he had been brewing up this concoction ever since he found out what he was in charge of for Family Home Evening.  In our family he is known for piling whatever together with whatever and trying it out.  Fruit Sundae's he called them.  And you know what??... they were pretty good :).  (Applesauce, apricot flipped with pit side up, and a cherry on top :)

Halloween Tradition

When we pull out our Halloween boxes from storage, I am reminded... it's time for tradition.  We have some halloween cookie cut-outs.  So we plan and make a day of making, cutting, cooking, and frosting cookies :).

Vera Beverly Christian

My grandma passed away last week.  She left a legacy.  An example of charity and devotion to the Lord.  We will all miss her so much.  At the same time I feel joy for her, because I feel she is home.  Grandpa had just passed 8 months earlier and she was ready to reunite with him.  I love her, am grateful for her because her testimony reared her children in goodness.  And their testimony has fortified mine.  And so I hope the chain continues.  We will miss you grandma, and will rejoice in the day that we meet again.

We have a Birthday, Shout Hooray!

Carson turned 4 today! We love Carson so much.  We call him 'Pesterly' sometimes because he is so persistent and completely endearing at the same time. :)  He is so cute to me.  There are times I think about him and I just want to go up and hold him.  He is my little man. Full of rough and tough, but teddy bear-ish at the same time.  He is such a sweet boy.  And he is quite the Captain America fan too!  So, we made him an ice cream Captain America shield cake. Which he said was his favorite thing about his birthday, Haha!  I'm glad it made him so happy :).  Happy Birthday Carson! WE LOVE YOU!!

Jess in the dress

My sis is getting married!! That is such a crazy thought to me! On monday I got to go be apart of her wedding dress shopping experience.  I loved it!  She was gorgeous in every single one! These were just a couple of what she tried on.  It's hard to imagine my little sis getting married.  And to soon possibly be having kids??! It blows my mind... she still my little sis in my eyes.  Love her.  She will be beautiful on her wedding day :). And of course we are adding sleeves if we need to ;).

On the Road Again

We made a last minute decision to head up to the Spokane to see my grandma before she passed away.  She was fading fast after several complications in the hospital and we felt we needed to go now.  I am glad we did because she passed away the next day.  We miss her so much.  We find peace that she is not in pain anymore and she is with grandpa once again.  We did a day trip on Sunday when we went to see her and stopped off at my brother's work in Spokane to see his set up at his new job.  He's an x-ray tech and gave us a simple tour.  It was fun to see him and all the stuff he does:).  This is an MRI machine and it creates such a great magnetic force that you can't wear any metal.
Zack showed the kids how strong of a pull it has when metal is near.  He had a chain tied to a rope so we could see for ourselves.  It was crazy how strong of a pull it was.  They said you could even feel it even being 7-8 ft away!
Carson talking into the fan to make funny noises during our tour :).
And Craig was kicking and being happy :).

Kate the Great and now is Eight

My brother was able to baptize his first young one this weekend.  Kate is such a sweet little girl and we all love her.  When she came up out of the water she gave out a little giggle, it was so cute :).  We love you Kate and congratulations! You are a shining example!

Party in Portland

This last weekend we were able to go one a little getaway with one of our really good friends.  It has been tradition for the last couple of years for us to get together this time of year and go play!  Jeremy and Lisa have birthdays that are 4 days apart and I think that's how it got started, and I hope it never ends!!  We love these guys!
This year we went to Portland and tired a new place to eat called, Marakesh, a Morrocan restaurant.  To be honest, when I walked in my first thoughts were: "Uhhh, this place looks kinda sketchy."  We had heard about this place from several people and decided to try it out ourselves.  It was so fun! Everything is eaten with your hands and you sit on little cushions at a table that is close to ground level.  It was quite the experience! And I will have to say, the food was great too! Lisa and I were displaying how to shovel it in with your hands ;).
Now these 2 guys are the ones that really make this all happen.  They coordinate everything and every time it's a blast :).  Jeremy and Jaime, you guys are the best! In the background you can see the live entertainment... A Belly Dancer!  I will admit, it was slightly awkward at first to be have her dancing so close, but the whole thing was a fun experience :).
Jaime and Lisa
Lisa and I... I LOVE this lady!!
The next day we hit IKEA for the very first time ever.  That's quite the experience too! It took us about 2 hrs to get through it all and came back with some great ideas!  And a couple of accessories ;).  Craig was such an awesome little guy the whole trip.  I seriously, couldn't have asked for better.
Lisa and Jamie checking out the stools
To end the date, so we could get back for a baptism, we all went to Red Robin.  It was such get away.  And what really made it was the people we were with :).  Thanks for the great Portland memory!
