Day Camp

So with Alex being my first boy, I am just barely realizing how much goes into scouts.  A TON! This year was Alex's first day camp experience for scouts and he had and absolute blast.  I was glad to be able to volunteer on one of the days, because I think I had just as much fun :)
I mean who wouldn't love sling shotting,
And building your own treasure box,
And jousting, (CHARGE!!!!)
And potion making! I think it was a successful time, and the boys loved it :)

Last day

On our last day in Missouri we travelled to and through a few sites for fun. Like....
Adam-ondi-ahman
Then Amish country
Trying out their homemade custard and fudge
And Liberty Jail
Through it all we find out one of our flights had been cancelled due to weather and can only reroute us to an early morning flight. So we crashed at a hotel near the airport thinking of all the fun we had this trip. It was such a treat to be with Jake and Shelly and their boys! So grateful for a wonderful family.

In the amazon :)

Today was filled with leisure outside fun and the kids loved it.
A little bit of wiffle ball
We sweated like crazy. Haha, definitely not use to the humidity. Cami said "It's like we're in the Amazon jungle!" (Not that she's experienced the jungle ;) That made us all laugh. We felt pretty sweaty afterwards.
A little bit of crafting fun (thank you Shelly!)
A little bit of eating, and boy does little Lincoln love his food;) so cute!!!!
Some more chicken time
Cami and Carson love holding them and feeding them
And some 'any time of year' fireworks :) I think that definitely was the highlight of the kids' day :)
Thank you Jake n Shelly for such a fun week so far! What a treat it has been :)

A little more Missouri

These last couple days we have been hitting some Missouri goodness :)
First was going to the Kansas City temple. So pretty!! I love to see different temples, each has their own unique theme. So Shelly, my mom, and I headed to the temple for a session.
The next day we slept in and enjoyed a 'at your own pace morning'. Cami didnt even get up til 10! Alex is usually our sleeper inner but Lincoln was gave him a wake up call :)
So sweet :)
After lunch we hit the savannah pool and was able to enjoy the 91 degree humid air ;)
By the end of the day Craig had had it, and wiped out early. They look so sweet when asleep! More play tomorrow :)

Big day at the zoo

One of our requests when coming out to Missouri was to hit the Omaha zoo. And my bro, Jake n wife Shelly, graciously took us out 2 hours to go to the zoo. And the kids loved it :)
It's hard to get good pics at the zoo, but we tried to capture the best of it :)
The petting zoo
Craig kept touching all the goats like he was playing duck duck goose. There were so many and he had to touch them all :)
Camel rides... Now you don't get/see that every day!
The monkeys!
The tropical forests
Their forest really was beautiful
Feeding the budgies
The desert dome
Keeping cool... Humidity is not something I'm sure I could get use to! But it really wasn't all that bad ;) it gets worse here later in the summer I'm sure!!
(Not at the zoo here but a 'cooling off' pic I forgot to put in last post)
After the zoo we brought choas to the Cheesecake Factory ha! Plates, paper, kids were flying n moving about everywhere ;) good memories though, and we will laugh when we think of them :)
We have really enjoyed hanging out with my brother and his fam. Cousin time is priceless.
Feeding the chickens at my bros house.
A moment of down time with Shelly n Jake
This trip we had to make without Jeremy and we miss him! So to my hubby, thinking of you, wishing you were here!
