Simply Delicious

Cami checked out a kids cookbook from the library the other day and we saw this recipe in it:
RASPBERRY RIPPLE CHEESECAKE
It is SO Good!  It's a no bake kind and is now my favorite cheesecake.  I'm not a huge cheesecake fan, but this is definitely a repeater.  It'll become another annual summer treat :).
And this face... Ohh this face!  He looks like a little rascally Calvin from the 'Calvin and Hobbes' cartoon comic.
And this little guy, just eatn' him up too :).  Lovn' those smiles and waiting for his first good laugh

Lifesaver & a Derby

My sister-in-law Amie came up to visit and brought with her their swing.  Oh how I love it!  I can eat and cook with 2 hands now! My mom found one too, but I told her to keep it at her house so when I go there I can use it.  There are some days Craig can be the biggest pill, just so fussy!  I end up walking up and down our block, lunges, or stairs just to get him to calm down, (I think he might be trying to tell me something ;).  Oh, but not now! The lovely swing :). Thank you Amie!
For Activities Day this month we did a pinewood derby for the girls.  Well, not as a competitive one or up to code on the rules.  But the girls had fun :).  I have never been to one, and my Activities day partner was amazing and got everything set up. Let me tell you we had a lot of pink and bling on those cars, lol.  Love it :).
Cami and Jeremy worked on their car last minute, right up to the time it was going to start,  haha.  She painted her's all purple and named it 'Spirit'.
They all got awards and treats :).  Cami got the fastest car.  After she got her award, she went up to Jeremy and said, "We did it daddy!"  All worth it, right there. :)

A little this - A little that

Craig went on his first boat ride yesterday.  At first he was full of smiles :).  But then the life jacket just became too much for him... but he learned to deal with it ;).
AND... I've been canning.  Jer helped me with the apricots my mom gave us from her tree.  50+ qts worth!

Childhood

Homemade play dough brings back so many good memories with my mom.  I remember watching her mix all the ingredients together while it heated up.  Then being fascinated as it gradually thickened into warm dough.  I loved playing with it fresh from the stove and every once in a while taking a lick at my fingers just for fun because it was so salty.  My favorite part though was that every batch she made was a different color.  Pink, green, blue.  Every once in awhile I will make a batch of homemade play dough for the kids.  And I think their favorite part is picking the color it will be :).  This time they chose brown.  Perfect for their dinosaur and bug exhibit.

Double DiPPing...

...while the boys went fishing!!
Yep, we got some more blueberries.  I just couldn't help myself!  This time my mom went with me.  It was scorching HOT this time.  But we still enjoyed some fresh blueberry donuts :).  Meanwhile, Jeremy took the boys out fishing.  This was Carson's first real fishing adventure with the big boys.  They camped in the car by the river 'til 3 am. (Got eaten alive by mosquitoes might I add).  They were fishing between 2 dams that had their spillways going, so it was pretty rough waters.  All that extra rocking made Alex spew a few times.  Poor kid! But I guess he never complained.  What a trooper!  Boys' loved it though and caught themselves some good lookn' fish :).

Craig is growing so fast!  He's smiling more and cooing at us.  Just melts my heart! He also makes the sweetest noise sometimes when he's sleeping.  It always makes me smile :).

In God We Trust

Every Year on the 4th of July we are reminded that the Lord's hand is every aspect of our lives, if we let him.  Even the coming about of the freedom of this blessed land, The United States of America! There is a reason he helped this land come about.  How grateful I am to be here.
For our celebration we got together with family.  Did the traditional bbq and swimming.  But this year, not only did we launch off some fireworks, but also some water balloons! The kids had a blast with this.  Even the men :). At the end they had the kids try catching their launched water balloons out in the field. (No one got hurt trying to catch them, just fyi ;)
We also got to meet my sister's new boyfriend.  Aren't they cute ;)?
Of course when the sun started to go down we gathered out on the lawn and deck, and watched Several different firework shows being lit off all around the Tri-Cities.  It was amazing!
CraigRs has been smiling now too.  Oh I LOVE it!  Makes all his fussiness worth working through :).
